The Enviromental Health & Safety (EH&S) unit promotes safety, health, and environmental stewardship at UCSF for all faculty, staff, students, patients and visitors while advancing health worldwide. The Department Safety Advisors (DSAs) are a one stop shop for safety inquiries for all campus and research employees. Safety is of utmost importance when working with human subjects or in shared facilities where biological and/or chemical experiments are being performed by multiple users. Personal and community safety procedures must always be practiced with an understanding that the "community" begins within the lab but extends to neighboring work facilities and personnel.
